Under the emergency economic measures order, Canadian financial institutions froze approximately 280 financial products representing about C$8 million. The parliamentary review records that the measures operated without the ordinary requirement for individual court orders.

The Bank of England and HM Treasury remain in an active design phase for a potential digital pound. No decision to introduce one has been made. The significance is not that every proposal is technocratic; it is that the institutional and technical choices governing future money are being made now.
